Welcome To The HXC Alliance Home Page: update July 31st
Greetings, We got only one week for the A-Bomb Nation show (August 7th). For those of you who haven't heard them, they have a sound like the Dropkick Murphys. You can get MP3's on their site, www.abombnation.com. Not much for other news yet, so here's the rest. The Skate vid is going to be put on overtime soon. Anyone who's up for it let me know. Also, if anyone has a video camra & would be up for filming, let me know. We could always use another one. If you filmed & want it on it, you can send it to us, our address is on the contact page.. And now to everything else. If you'd like to be on our email list let me know. I send out an email every time something happenes. If your interested in being on it, contact me at hxcmobey@aol.com. Since we don't have have the money for the video we will be taking footage until we do. I'm estimating it shouldn't be to much longer, once we get our merch out & get some funds to work with. On other hand, we're thinking about going a bit later & see if we can get some bands that are on the video for the release party. So, it'll take awhile to get all them to work their schedule around their tours. I think it'd be worth it. I will do an email last call from our mailing list when we're set to do our editing for the video & it will be listed on here when it happens.Up The Punx, Mobey & The Alliance

Ignore your scene & it will go away/Destroy your venues & they will too (*Revised)
This I feel should be said because I've seen it happen first hand. When you stop going to the shows for awile & other people are doing the same, the promoters will start to lose faith, eventually they'll stop setting them up. It really sucks when when you start losing money on the shows too. Another part of this nasty prosses is there maybe bands that won't come back because of the turn out of thier last show. The Fargo punk scene almost died but I still wanted to try to get back what we once had. Thankfully the last all ages show I went to, I've found we have alot of new kids in the scene but I still know if we dont work it this may just be gone again. Your local scene shouldn't be taken for granted, keep going to those shows.(*) Another thing that should be taken into account is something that happened at a show that I was at over at the VFW in Fargo,ND. Someone seemed to think it would be cool to break a cealing tile & one of the lights. Who ever did that I want to say F#!k you. It's stupid acts like this that keeps these venues from renting to us, if we don't respect there property there will be no more shows. Thankfully we can still rent it but the price has gone up with their new security charge. So use your brain & don't screw the rest of us over. Later Mobey |
A Little History On The Fargo/Moorhead Hard X Core Punk Scene
* First off I'd like to say I hold nothing against the HXC metal scene* Now this has been brought to my attention that the local metal scene has been using this term as well ,which I have no problem with, since we have both a HXC punk scene & a HXC metal scene here in Fargo & anyone who wants to use it should be able to but we have been acussed with taking that from them as they have been using it for over a year now, thats what a member of Kludge told me but a member of Blood Dries Black (who is a very cool guy, I might add) says over 2. This is a little history on the Fargo/Moorhead Hard X Core Punk scene & setting the record strait. First off I'm not sure how this began since people have been using this for years before me, I know this because when I was about 14 or 15 y/o I saw a FMHC sticker on a bass amp I wanted & I didn't realize what it was until a couple years later. Well here we go, those of you who we're here at the time this may bring back fond memories, back in 96-97 Fargo had an amazing HXC punk scene with many great bands such as Filled with disgust, Big shmooze & the dung beetles, The krebscouts, Old style, Too dutch to f*%k, Consistent struggle/Bash the rich & so on, as well as other great out of town bands playing here about every couple weeks or even days, like Code 13, Violent society, Decrepit, Toxic narcotic, The skabs, Behead the prophet NLSL among others. Many punks around here have termed the Fargo/Mooread Hard X Core to this scene like myself & I have never given up on this term. The scene went in to a decline around summer of 98 as it was very hard to find any place that would rent to us & a lot of the other punks moving out of the area. By around 99-2000 the scene was all but dead, then some where in 2000 the idea for the HXC Alliance came up, then in 2001 we decided to get moving on it with the hope that the scene would get back to what it once was. We decided to get back into promoting shows & in the summer of 2002 we had Tear it up, Down in flames, Holding on, Crimes of the conspiracy & The beef jerks. The show was a blast but the turn out was horrible, if it wasn't for the people who came from Winnipeg & Minot there probably been only about 10 people there, I lost over on that show & I was very nervous to put on another show. Then I decided to go to a show around 6-8 months ago where 20 second bomb & Empty promise we're playing, it was a great show but what really took me by surprise was the turn out, the F-M had a good punk scene again & I'm going to try to do what I can to keep it strong again. It goes to show the Fargo/Moorhead Hard X Core Punks are here to stay. Keep it real & stay true, Mobey
